Connect it to the hosting and allow DNS changes to take effect. Do not launch on a temporary or borrowed domain. Moving later means changing member bookmarks, email settings, gateway callbacks and search presence in one disruptive pass.
Step 3: Choose hosting for cron, not only for pages

Step 5: Secure the installation
Set a strong, unique admin password before adding content or inviting testers. Protect the registrar, hosting, email, database and script admin accounts, and use two-factor authentication where available.

Finally, read every automatic email as a new member: welcome, deposit, payout, password and alert messages. Correct site names, links, amounts and instructions before anyone else sees them.
One operating rule is easy to forget at this stage: decide in advance what happens to things members start and never finish. Deposits abandoned halfway and withdrawals left unreviewed do not age well. We learned the same lesson on our own store, where orders could sit in Pending indefinitely because nobody had set an expiry. We now run a fifteen-day rule: an unpaid order expires automatically at fifteen days, and if a late payment still arrives afterwards, the payment wins and the order is honoured in full. Write your platform’s version of that rule down before launch day — how long a pending item lives, what the member is told, and who reviews what is left.
Step 8: Connect payments and prove the money path
A gateway provides or coordinates the deposit address, watches for payment, waits for confirmations and sends a callback—often called an IPN or webhook—so the script can credit the member.
Set up:
- A gateway account and wallets you control
- The coins and networks you will support
- Callback or IPN settings
- Confirmation requirements

Start with the methods your intended members actually use. Every extra coin or network adds rules and support questions, and it can be added later after testing.

A payment page opening is not proof. Make a small real deposit and follow it through address generation, pending status, confirmations, callback, automatic credit and history. Then request and complete a small withdrawal. A blocked callback, wrong secret or SSL problem can leave a payment confirmed on-chain while the member sees no credit. Discover that privately, not after announcement.
Step 9: Finish SSL, email, backups and monitoring
Open the homepage and login page in a private browser window and confirm the SSL padlock. Internal links should not return members to an unsecured address, and certificate renewal should be automatic or diarised.
Use a mailbox on your own domain with SPF and DKIM configured. Resets and payment emails in spam make members blame the platform even when the server sent them.
Do not trust a settings page that merely says DKIM is on. Check the headers of a real message. Our own store’s verification emails were landing in Gmail’s spam folder even though SPF and DMARC both passed — there was no DKIM signature on the mail at all. The key published in our DNS was an orphan: the matching private key did not exist anywhere on the server, so the mail server had quietly stopped signing. Publishing the key that actually matched the server’s private key fixed it, and the next test message showed dkim=pass and arrived in the inbox. Take a complete file and database backup before launch, store a copy away from the server and understand the restore process. Add uptime monitoring so you learn about an outage from an alert rather than from member complaints.
Step 10: Test privately, then announce
Create an ordinary member account and use the site as an outsider. Admin screens hide many problems members will meet.
